My Step Count is Trash - Started a Group to Fix It
After [writing about my Garmin watch data](https://retatrutidelog.com/posts/retatrutide-heart-rate-decrease), I actually looked at my step count for the first time in forever.
**The reality:** Trash. Absolute trash.
I'm consistent with my 5:00-5:40 AM gym routine, get in, do my 4-5 movements on weights or machines, then head out. I hate Planet Fitness's cardio machines, so that's not happening. But apparently that's where my movement ends for the day.
## The Problem
My gym sessions are solid, but my daily step count is embarrassing. I'm probably hitting my movement quota in 40 minutes at the gym, then sitting at my desk for the next 14 hours.
Figured others on retatrutide might be in the same boat - consistent with structured workouts but terrible at basic daily movement.
## The Solution
Found StepUp a free app that works with most smartwatches and fitness trackers. Created a group called "retatrutidelog" for anyone wanting to add more walking without the gym pressure.
**My simple plan:**
- Add 1-2 walks during the day (unless it's raining)
- Track whatever my baseline is
- Gradually improve without overthinking it
- Share progress
## Download StepUp
**Then join our group:** [RetatrutideLog StepUp Group](https://join.thestepupapp.com/zW07S5)
## The Real Deal
Look, I might be in this group completely alone, and that's fine. The point is taking a step (literally) to change something instead of just talking about it.
My step count is embarrassing, my gym routine is solid, but I'm sedentary the other hours of the day. Time to actually do something about it instead of just acknowledging it's a problem.
## Who's In?

If you’re on retatrutide (or any weight loss journey) and your step count is as pathetic as mine, let’s fix it together.
I’ll be sharing my step counts alongside my weekly weight updates. Even a few extra walks a week will add up.
Let’s hold each other accountable for the *easy wins* that support the harder stuff. Who’s stepping up?
