After Week 30's discouraging scale gain and minimal fat loss, Week 31 delivered the whoosh. **7.6 pounds down on the scale. 5.6 pounds of fat lost in one week.** Body fat percentage dropped from 22.5% to 20.9% - **first time breaking through 21%**. Visceral fat down to 8 (lowest yet). Waist down another 0.48 inches to 36.37". This vindicates everything Week 30 was showing: the waist was still dropping, the water retention was real, and the fat loss was happening under the surface. The scale just hadn't caught up yet. Now it has. Let me break down what happened this week and what's changing next week. ## The Numbers: Week 30 vs Week 31 **Week 31 vs Week 30 changes:** - Weight: 240.8 lbs (down from 248.4 lbs, **-7.6 lbs**) - Body Fat Mass: 50.4 lbs (down from 56.0 lbs, **-5.6 lbs fat**) - Muscle Mass: 177.6 lbs (down from 179.6 lbs, **-2.0 lbs muscle**) - Body Water: 139.6 lbs (down from 141.2 lbs, **-1.6 lbs water**) - Body Fat %: 20.9% (down from 22.5%, **-1.6% drop**) - Waist Measurement: 36.37" (down from 36.85", **-0.48 inches**) - Visceral Fat: 8 (down from 9, **-1 level**) **Total progress: -95.8 pounds** (336.6 lbs → 240.8 lbs in 31 weeks) **Note on waist measurement:** I measure consistently at the same spot every week: about 2 inches above my belly button. Not where I wear my pants (on the hips), but at a consistent anatomical landmark for reliable week-to-week tracking. The muscle and water both dropped, which makes sense - when you're holding excess water in muscle tissue and then flush it, both numbers drop together. The 2.0 lbs muscle loss matches closely with the 1.6 lbs water loss. But the fat loss is what matters here: **5.6 pounds of pure fat gone in one week.** ## The Whoosh Explained Week 30 was water retention masking fat loss. Week 31 is the flush. **What happened:** After two massive fat loss weeks (Week 28: 3.8 lbs fat, Week 29: 2.6 lbs fat), my body held onto water in Week 30. The scale went up 2.2 lbs, fat barely moved (+0.2 lbs), but the waist still dropped 0.19 inches. The waist measurement was telling the truth. Fat was still being lost from the trunk, but water retention in the extremities (arms, legs, shoulders) was masking it on the scale. Then Week 31: the water flushed, the fat loss caught up on the scale, and everything aligned. **This is textbook body recomposition:** - Aggressive fat loss for 2-3 weeks - Water retention stall for 1 week - Whoosh that releases it all at once The scale doesn't move linearly. It moves in steps and plateaus. But if you track waist measurement, body composition, and training performance, you can see the fat loss happening even when the scale isn't cooperating. Week 30 was discouraging. Week 31 proves why you trust the process anyway. ## Sub-21% Body Fat: First Time Breaking Through Body fat at 20.9% is a new milestone. I've been hovering in the low 22% range for a few weeks. Breaking through 21% means I'm officially in the "fitness" category instead of "acceptable/average" on body composition charts. **What this means:** Visceral fat at 8 is excellent. That's the dangerous fat around your organs - getting this number down is more important than scale weight. At 20.9% body fat, I'm carrying 50.4 lbs of fat mass. My lean mass (muscle + bone + water) is 190.4 lbs. **Goal adjustment coming:** I was originally targeting 15-18% body fat or around 220 lbs. But I'm waiting for the DEXA scan next Saturday (February 14) to see what my actual body composition is before finalizing the target. If the bioimpedance scale is accurate and I'm actually at 20.9%, then 15% body fat would put me around 224 lbs (assuming I maintain current lean mass). That's only 17 more pounds to lose. If the DEXA shows I'm higher - say 23-24% - then I've got more work to do. Either way, the DEXA will tell me exactly where I stand and what the realistic goal should be. ## Freedom Diagnostics Testing: 99.639% Purity I sent a vial from my new 30mg batch to Freedom Diagnostics Testing for purity and quantity verification. **Results:** - **Purity:** 99.639% - **Net Peptide Content:** 33.34mg (labeled as 30mg) - **Identity:** GLP RT confirmed - **Appearance:** White Lyophilized Powder - **COA Number:** 2602030202 ![Screenshot from 2026-02-07 10-39-55.png](https://retatrutidelog.com/uploads/73fbb1f5-4101-4153-8137-115206b3c7a1.png) **You can verify this COA yourself:** Go to [freedomdiagnosticstesting.com/search-for-your-coa](https://freedomdiagnosticstesting.com/search-for-your-coa-based-on-the-unique-accession-number/) and enter accession number **2602030202** in the lookup box. **Testing breakdown:** - Purity test: $200 - Net peptide content: $25 - **Total cost: $225** **Timeline:** - Sent Monday afternoon - Delivered Tuesday - Not charged until test started (late Friday evening) - Results came back within 24-48 hours after test started **This is the same source from the guide.** 99.639% purity with overfill (33.34mg in 30mg vials) validates the sourcing strategy once again. **Comparison to Finnrick:** - Finnrick: 99.80% purity, 6-7 week turnaround - Freedom Diagnostics: 99.639% purity, 24-48 hour turnaround Both are excellent. Freedom Diagnostics is faster and slightly cheaper ($225 vs Finnrick's pricing). If I need to test again, I'll use Freedom Diagnostics because of the speed. ## RENPHO Scale Report: Week 31 Body Composition ![1770461295166_100.JPG](https://retatrutidelog.com/uploads/346355d2-c063-4a44-8787-61d778eaf1fb.JPG) The [RENPHO smart scale](https://amzn.to/4pKOyai) shows the massive fat loss this week. **Key metrics Week 31:** - Weight: 240.8 lbs - Body Fat Mass: 50.4 lbs (20.9%) - Muscle Mass: 177.6 lbs - Skeletal Muscle: 110.8 lbs - Body Water: 139.6 lbs - Visceral Fat: 8 - BMI: 30.9 Body fat percentage at 20.9% is the lowest I've recorded. Visceral fat at 8 is excellent. The 5.6 lbs of fat lost this week is one of the biggest weekly drops I've had. The water and muscle both flushed along with it, which is expected after a retention week. ## Titrating Down: Reducing Retatrutide Dose Starting Monday, I'm beginning the titration down process. **The plan:** - **Week 32:** 8mg weekly (down from 12mg) - Stay at 8mg for 3-4 weeks - **Then:** Drop to 6mg weekly - Stay at 6mg for 3-4 weeks - **Eventually:** Work back down to 2mg weekly **Why start tapering before hitting goal?** I don't want to wait until I'm at 15% body fat or 220 lbs to start reducing the dose. Here's why: 1.**Preserve sensitivity:** The longer you stay at high doses, the more your body adapts. Tapering down while still losing fat keeps the compound effective at lower doses. 2.**Sustainability:** I want to find the minimum effective dose for long-term maintenance, not just push maximum suppression until I hit goal and then crash off. 3.**Cost optimization:** Lower doses mean the supply lasts longer. If 6mg or even 4mg can maintain fat loss at this point, why use 12mg? 4.**DEXA-informed decision:** After the DEXA scan next Saturday, I'll know my actual body composition. That will inform whether I need to stay aggressive or can coast at lower doses. The goal is 220 lbs or 15% body fat - whichever comes first. The DEXA will tell me which target is realistic and how much further I need to go. ## YouTube Growth: 847 Subscribers The YouTube channel continues to explode. This will answer the question: is the RENPHO bioimpedance scale accurate, or has it been drifting? **What I'm bringing:** - The RENPHO scale for a same-time, same-location comparison - Camera to document the process - Notebook for measurements **What the DEXA will tell me:** - Actual body fat percentage (vs bioimpedance estimate of 20.9%) - Actual lean mass (vs bioimpedance estimate of 177.6 lbs muscle) - Bone density - Regional fat distribution (where I'm actually storing fat) - Whether the bioimpedance readings have been accurate or not If the DEXA shows I'm actually at 23-24% body fat instead of 20.9%, that changes the goal. If it confirms 20.9%, then I'm closer to the finish line than I thought. Either way, I'll know exactly where I stand and can adjust the plan accordingly. ## What's Next **Protocol change:** Dropping to 8mg retatrutide weekly starting Monday. First step in the titration down process. **DEXA scan:** Next Saturday (Feb 14) at 7:30 AM. Will validate bioimpedance accuracy and set final goal. **Goal decision:** Waiting for DEXA results before finalizing whether I'm targeting 220 lbs or 15% body fat. Depends on what the scan shows. **Continued training:** 6 days per week. Protocol stays aggressive even as the dose comes down. 95.8 pounds down. 5.6 pounds of fat lost this week. Body fat at 20.9%. Visceral fat at 8. Week 30 was discouraging. Week 31 proves why you trust the process anyway. ::sourceguide[{ "headline": "Need a source?
